On January 12, the North Taihang Mountain Tunnel of the Xiong'an-Xinzhou High Speed Railway was fully bored through. The tunnel has a total length of 12.519 kilometers, starting in Fuping county, Baoding city, Hebei province, and ending in the Wutai Mountain Scenic Area of Xinzhou city, Shanxi province. The full breakthrough of the tunnel marks the successful opening of a key “bottleneck passage” linking Hebei province and Shanxi province, laying a solid foundation for the Xiong'an-Xinzhou High Speed Railway to open to traffic as scheduled.
